How I Got Here

Hey there everyone!

As the title of the website might suggest, I am Aaron, and this is my blog chronicling my journey as a Software Programmer. So as I was creating this Blog Post website for my coding bootcamp, I thought it would be useful to provide prospective employers with a brief background of how I found my self at Coder Foundry. I graduated Randleman High school in 2008 and went straight off to UNC-Charlotte to start my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering. After my sophomore year, a younger more impetuous me, decided that maybe I didn't want to sit behind a desk my whole life and that I wanted to work more with people than numbers, so I switched my major to Exercise Science. After two more years in that program, I ended up losing most of my financial aid due to there not being as much grant money available to ES students as there is for EE students. So I was forced to go back home where I started working In the family business, FilmTek LLC, a window tinting company for about seven years. Near the beginnig of 2019, I started to realize that there wasn't any room for me to really grow in that company so I started looking at maybe going back to school and that is where I learned about Coder Foundry! After talking it over with my girlfriend I decided to apply and it was the best decision I ever made.
